About the Author:
Hem Barua was the only parliamentarian from Assam, who used to mesmerise everyone through his speeches by choice of words, linguistic excellence, loaded information about the subjects, intelligence, sarcasm, wit, calmness and knowledge in the Indian Parliament for years. This at a time when Indian Parliament had stalwarts like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, S.A. Dange, Acharya J.B. Kripalini, H.V. Kamath, Shri Nath Rai, Madhu Limaye, Morarji Desai, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Indira Gandhi, Krishna Menon and many more. Hem Barua spent most of his times in the opposition benches in the Parliament. For decades, there are lots of discussion about Hem Barua’s oratorical skills, but there was no book on those skills, his speeches, his questions and debates in the parliament.
