Srutimala Duara lives in Guwahati. Her writing career began with short stories, of which there are now four collections. She has written three novels and a book of poems and also a book on Guwahati named Mindprints of Guwahati. Dr. Duara is an Associate Professor in English, Handique Girls’ College, Guwahati. She was a television presenter in Guwahati Doordarshan Kendra for twenty years. She has also acted in plays and TV serials.
